During its regular Oct. 06, 2016 meeting, the Forney Planning and Zoning Commission met and (this is a preliminary report, subject to revision):

The Forney Animal Shelter Advisory Committee met, was given an update on the new shelter completion, and discussed policies.

Forney Park Board on Sep. 21 approved a Forney Arts Council project for Caboose Park.

Forney City Council holds a Public Hearing for budget, waits on TxDOT to consider Raising Canes' traffic issues, approves deed of property to Texas Lamp

During a very long August 16 meeting, the city council approved ATV sales at new motorcycle dealer, approved a deal with Luminant/NextEra/FPLE power plant with cash and delayed annexation, approved reconsidering the denial of Raising Canes, but not until the next meeting.

The August 04 Forney P&Z approved extra uses for the motorcycle dealer, tabled action on residential shelters, approved new site at Shafer Plaza, "south" of Huddle House.

The Board of Adjustment met on Aug. 01 to consider a request for a carport on an existing house (denied), and to reduce setback requirements for a planned new house (approved).

During its July 20 meeting, Parks & Rec. board assigned some fields to FYFL for practice, after a lengthy and lively discussion.
