Forney EDC considers future tenants

During its regular Dec. 08 meeting, the Forney EDC met and (this is the preliminary report, subject to change):


  • Treasurers Report - sales tax revenue is up 1% over projections. Chairman McBeth asked if any large expenditures coming - Mr. Ketteman said there could be, after discussion in executive session.
  • Mr. Ketteman said they spoke to Kaufman Leadership Council. W. Broad St project - survey has been completed and sent to city engineer, it looks good for not needing a sewage lift station - this covers the area around Emergicon, Dee Carter, Homesleys, Deen Implement, and Liberty Hill. 106 Main st, lot of activity, moving along nicely. Have been working to expand medical services, did a survey of the senior citizens. Has spoken with public works, contractor Axis, and alerted utilities that "locates" will be needed downtown, preceeding the parking project.
  • Held a 50 minute executive session.

  • Approved proceeding with negotiations with the current prospect.
  • Mr. Ketteman stated they were making headway with a restaurant prospect for 215 Bois D'arc.
